I just updated my game, and all of my families, and houses I built are gone. Nothing I built is in the neighborhoods, and three are families in the neighborhoods that are not mine. WHAT HAPPENED? I saved my save folders, and after the game updated, I copy and pasted my save file back into my game, but none of my saved sims or homes are in the game! How did this happen?
I have my script mods turned on, but every time I relaunch the game and go back, none of my families, houses, or things that I built in my neighborhood are there. It looks like someone else's game. Where are my families, their houses, and the other things I built in the game? Who's game is this? Why does every UPDATE RUIN MY GAME?
mahoganywood28 Is the save itself there, or are you only seeing the option to start a new save? If the save is there but is missing all your data, it sounds like you have one of these issues:

If the saves themselves aren't available in-game, please double-check that you've added them to the correct Sims 4 folder and that they're named correctly. Please see this article for the first:

It may also help to recover a backup save, as described.
The game I saved is not there, but another save is there. The characters are not mine!! Its a family I never created. I have a backup of several saves in a folder on my desktop. It seems after some research that the update sent my folder to ONE DRIVE.

But the original point still stands: you need to place your saves in the folder the game is using, AND if your main save isn't viable, recover a backup and see whether your sims are there.
So I need to move my save file to ONE DRIVE? Why did the game send everything to ONE Drive, and how can I rectify this problem?
mahoganywood28 You need to move your save file to whatever folder the game is reading. If you don't want that location to be in OneDrive, have a look at the thread I linked in my previous post, and keep OneDrive away from your Sims data in one way or another.
I guess its reading One Drive. But I don't want my game in One Drive, so I'm trying to turn my documents folder off for syncing in One Drive.
If I turn off my documents folder in ONE DRIVE, can I then place my save file back into my PC
Back into my PC document folder to play there? Should I start a new game for this?
I don't understand how to do the renaming of the save file I have. I'm confused.
