Solved

My saves, CC/mods, etc. are missing.

I couldn't get Sims 4 to open by origin, it would load and then choose to do nothing. I searched it up and found another post with the same issue and so I followed their chosen solution which was to move the 'The Sims 4' folder from EA Games folder onto desktop. I did it and now all of my game data is gone and it's like the game's been reset. How do I fix it? Please help.

I found this from a post that has been closed but the post did not help me. I did the same thing of moving my The Sims 4 folder onto my computer desktop (for clarification)

I have an EA GAMES folder then an Electronic Arts folder. It says to put "The Sims 4" folder in the Electronic Art folder, I did that and still nothing. I even reinstalled the game and did not fix it that.

I've added two screenshots of where I'm putting the file and what it looks like inside.

  • @emilystarynight  The Program Files > Electronic Arts folder holds data from the EA App.  It's not the correct location for the Sims 4 user folder.  The user folder goes in Documents > Electronic Arts.  Put your folder there and your user data should show up again.

It sounds like your mods may be the problem though, so please test without them.  If the game opens properly without the Mods folder but not with it, use the 50/50 method to test your mods and custom content.

  • Thank you for the reply! ☺️

    - shown in one of the screenshots, I did put it in the electronic art file and not even my saves showed up in game

    - I also have no mods downloaded just cc

I’ll take the cc out just to see if that’s blocking the saves and etc. though

@emilystarynight  No, again, both of your screenshots show this file path:

    C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts

This is not the correct folder, as mentioned.

Edit:  I didn't see your second post until I'd posted again.

If you've subsequently put the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, and they're not showing up, make sure they're in the correct Documents folder.  Here's how to find it:
