My Sims 4 Files are corrupted?!?

My Sims 4 game has not been working for two years and i can't seem to figure out why. I first noticed the issue when there was no longer the Sims 4 logo on my desktop. Upon visiting the EA app and launching the game from there, the app suggested that there appeared to be a corrupted file on my game and that i could repair it right then and there. After multiple times trying to repair it through the EA app nothing seemed to work. At that point i had tried to repair it nearly 50 times and there was still no success. Every time i try launching the game nothing seemed to get fix and it continued to say that there was a corrupted file. I figured that the game its self was the problem and i should try reinstalling it instead. After going as far as uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app and the Sims 4 all together not was still no solution. There is now no longer a Sims 4 shortcut on my desktop and each time i reinstall the game it appears as a file/folder that i can't access. I have now lost all patience and no longer know what to do. Please help!!!

  • @ElyQ24  What do you mean that the game appears as a file/folder you can't access?  Please post a screenshot if you're not sure how to describe it.

Please also post a screenshot of the error you see when you try to launch the game.  Some errors can be misleading.

  • Here I have attached an image from my computer. After multiple attempts to reinstall the Sims 4 on to my computer this is the icon that appears on my desktop, and every time i click on it i get the following pop up.

  • @ElyQ24  Please delete this shortcut, which isn't usable anyway.  Try to launch Sims 4 from within the EA App and let me know whether it works.

If it does, you can create your own shortcut.  First, find the game's install location, under Game Library > Sims 4 > Manage > View properties:

Open that Sims 4 folder, then Game, then Bin.  Right-click TS4_DX9_x64 and select Send to > Desktop (shortcut), and you should have a working shortcut.
