My Sims 4 game is reset but all save files are still there
My Sims 4 game has started acting like I've never played. All my save files including older versions are in the correct Saves folder in the Documents folder. I've tried using an older version of the game I played last and that doesn't work either; the game launches as if I'm new. I've read multiple threads pointing to OneDrive, but as best I can tell my game is not using OneDrive. There is no Sims folder of any kind in my OneDrive and I don't really use OneDrive or iCloud for anything much. I'm playing on Windows 10 on a laptop and have never had major issues until recently. I have all the various packs and kits and the only real mod I use is MCC, although I have a lot of downloaded custom content.
I did discover a The Sims 4 folder in one of my partitioned drives (E🙂. This folder has a bunch of folders in it, including one called "_Installer" which was modified recently and another called "SP31" that was created a few days ago when I installed the latest kit. There are also a ton of other folders that seem to be related to the various DLC packs and kits. I had no idea these folders existed before and I'm afraid to do anything with them in case I break something, but I'm wondering if something happened when I installed the kit that is causing the game to now look in my F drive instead of the normal C drive?
Can anyone offer any suggestions to help me get my saves to work again? I have 9000 plus hours in the game and I am devastated at the thought of losing all the legacy families and different saves I have going. Thanks in advance for any help!
