@_ricex1 Please look in OneDrive's version of Documents for any missing saves or Tray files. That's a common place for the files to land. If you find them there, you can move them back to the corresponding folders in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4.
If the files aren't in OneDrive, try searching your hard drive. Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter Slot_ in the search field in the upper right corner. This should turn up any saves on your computer. If you find one that's from before the City Living trial, click on it, select "Open file location" at the top of the window, and you'll land wherever your saves are. Hopefully you'll find a Tray folder with your old builds in it too. Again, you can move any files you find to the correct location, and the game should read them again.

Thank you so much for your help! Unfortunately I don't think my builds and everything are recoverable as the only files in my tray folder are dated from during the city living trial ☹️. I will ask though, if you don't mind telling me, where the 'correct location' is?

@_ricex1 By "the correct location," I meant the location I'd described earlier: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, or rather the appropriate folders inside the Sims 4 folder. The game reads data from that location, and only that location, so that's where files need to be.

I'm having the same problem...so frustrating! I found the saved files on my computer in the correct EA file location, but they don't show up in the game. Any other suggestions> Thanks!
