My Sims game keeps verifying files on each launch of the game.

I repaired my game a few nights back since it was lagging a bit.  Origin kicked offline during the repair and wouldn't allow me to go back online mode.  I won't restarting my laptop as I was even able to get into Origin after this happened.  Ever since then each time a launch the game it verifies my files. It doesn't have any issues verifying the files but since I have all the EP's, GP's and SP's this takes a while.  I've never had it verify all the files before launching my game each time before, only whenever there's an update or I'm repairing the game.  Anyone know why and how I can fix this so it doesn't need to verify each time?

Greatly appreciated!

I'm afraid that stopping the repair caused this error. Probably only reinstalling the whole game can help.
Reinstalling the game will not affect your saves or libraries that are in the Documents folder. Reinstallation of the game applies only to the installation folder which is located in another folder.

  • @swcheppes  Before you go through an entire reinstall, try repairing the game again.  If that doesn't work, clear Origin's cache and repair again.

Uninstalling shouldn't be necessary, but if you do go that route, please first move the Sims 4 user data folder (or the Sims 4 Legacy Edition folder if you play that version) out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Uninstalling usually doesn't delete this folder, but it can, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
