@8gjwgawpa9ym  A component of Windows 10 is crashing, over and over.  I can't tell whether this is related to your Sims 4 issues, but it should be addressed regardless.

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, and try to play.  If you can't, please let me know, and also list any third-party antivirus program you use, e.g. Avast or AVG.

  • @8gjwgawpa9ym  Please move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play for a bit.  Let me know either way.

If you still get a black screen, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@8gjwgawpa9ym  It matters for some troubleshooting purposes that you're using Steam, but not for either of the above steps.  Let me know if you need any more help, and please do post a dxdiag.

@8gjwgawpa9ym  Do you still need help?  If so, please attach the dxdiag to one of your posts here, and post back to let me know.
