Which language are you playing the game in? English

How often does the bug occur? Every time

What is your current game version number? 1.89.214.1030, up to date as of July 25, 2022

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?The Sims 4, Cats & Dogs, Parenthood, Seasons, Cottage Living, Laundry Day, Vintage Glamour

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?

Step 1. Install The Sims 4 and associated DLCs

Step 2. Open The Sims 4 through Origin or EA App

Step 3. Select “New Game”

Step 4. Enter Create A Sim, complete new household

Step 5. Press the check mark to save the household and play the game

Step 6. Window pops up with household’s picture, press check mark to accept, save and play

Step 7. Nothing happens…

What happens when the bug occurs? CAS Sims are not saving so I cannot enter the world to play

What do you expect to see? Once household is saved, I should be able to select the Season and World and then choose a lot to start playing/building.

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Not sure. I previously played the Sims on the same computer about a year ago with no issues. I have since factory reset my computer.

Actions taken:

Allowed HOURS for the household to save

Uninstalled The Sims 4, deleted associated files from Recycling Bin, reinstalled

Uninstalled Origin, reinstalled

Reset the game to factory settings as per Troubleshooting Guide

Cleared Origin cache

Repaired game through Origin

Reviewed conflicting virus software and firewalls - there are none

Run game as administrator

Tried other Windows 8, Vista settings

Checked Microsoft Visual C++ (2010 to 2019)

I downloaded the Sims 4 and DLCs on my husband’s laptop and it’s running fine… please help!

    Cache Files: There is a step by step here on Clearing Cache Files (you can also move it to the desktop instead of deleting if you want to be on the safe side).Another idea for you is to to a Clean Boot of your pc.

    Here's a troubleshooter. and another troubleshooter post by Crinrict

    Have you checked the current System Requirements for running the game?

    2 links that may help you with the requirements as they increased quite a bit for the game to run well.

    • If you don't use any mods or cc (/or never have), please post your dx diag once repairing your game, for someone to diagnose your pc issue.

    If you use mods or cc >> (I realise you state no, but just checking if you recently did)

    Spoiler
    Sadly, there is no short cut to finding broken cc & mods, If you use any mods or cc please check for updates to them where you found them; after any sims update or game pack added, as they are known to break the game.. or at the very least cause issues;

    • Apart from culling your folders one by one, or the  50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, (restarting and checking your game each time) you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it

    • Mods & cc are well known to cause various in-game issues please check for updates to them / where you found them; do this also > after any sims update or adding a game pack,

      It's up to the artist of particular cc & mods to keep them compatible with the game, and if you use them, then check your game after each patch etc.. you may need to find the culprit affecting your game.  Also,  if you are new to using cc/mods please check my post here on maintaining your game.  as there are many tips including the 50/50 method and tools to help you fix your game and how to find the broken mod.

      Then run your game vanilla, while checking mods and cc, with the cull method;

      The following flowchart is From here: Sims Wiki  also there's a good guide at Carls Sims Guide to find broken cc/mods

    When you upload your dxdiag, someone will find it easier to diagnose for you.
