Nvidia Graphics Card not detected

Since the update to the Sims game, I keep getting an error code that my the game does not recognize my graphics card. It causes the game to crash.

  • Bfrank454  An "unrecognized graphics card" error doesn't cause crashes on its own.  That just means that the GPU's device ID isn't in the game's database and therefore the game is guessing at which settings to impose by default.  But you can change the settings however you want.

Anyway, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also open Config.log, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, copy the first 40 or so lines (stop when you get to Options), and paste them into your reply.  You can delete your user and computer names, about 20 lines down; there's no other personal information in the file.
