I found scumbumbo on Mod The Sims - "Enable Debug Cheats" and "Two Cheat Fixes"
I destroyed the stupid guitar!
Have to wait and see if that's what was stopping the turtle hatching.

@jezzabella2313 There is another one by Bienchen83, Destroy Objects Cheat, I've been using that one. It restores the old Sims 3 version, shift-click "Destroy Object".
