Origin not working :(

Question

Origin won't work, when i download it and update it it just says&nbsp;"HOLD UP! AN&nbsp;UPDATE IS REQUIRED. The version of&nbsp;Origin&nbsp;you are using is no longer supported. Please&nbsp;update&nbsp;your operating system to Windows 7*, macOS 10.9 or newer in order to install the latest version of&nbsp;Origin&nbsp;and continue playing the games in your library." And i have a windows 10. I've tried everything and nothing would work. this has been happening for 4 days, ive been uninstalling it and running it in admin and stuff but none of that works. ☹️ i just got this laptop and i really wanna play the sims 4. someone help pls and thank u.

@AshelyKing&nbsp; Please make sure you're not running Origin in compatibility mode—that's a common cause of this error.

Otherwise, clear Origin's cache and uninstall it "the hard way."&nbsp; The regular uninstall doesn't remove all Origin-related files from your computer, but these steps should.

Download the full installer, not the ThinSetup, and run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."&nbsp; This is the direct download link:

Once you've installed Origin, run it as an admin too.&nbsp; If you get an error, please take a screenshot and attach it to a post.

it says " the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)

@AshelyKing&nbsp; Start by running a couple of checks on your Windows system files.&nbsp; Here's how:

Hit Windows key-X
Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
Post the message you receive here

Start with the VC++ runtimes and .NET 4.8.&nbsp; (You can skip the Silverlight and Shockwave components entirely.)

what do i do after i download the aio-runtimes and extract it and then run the application?

@AshelyKing&nbsp; You install the VC++ runtimes and .NET 4.8 (although it's fine if you get an error saying it's already installed).&nbsp; Then try to open Origin.&nbsp; If it doesn't work, uninstall Origin, reinstall, and test again.
