I installed Windows 10 and I had no problems for awhile. Now every time I download a package file to install, it tells me it is corrupted and won't open. Any tips?

Any tips?That's because you're doing it wrong. ;) You do NOT open .package files. If it's already a .package file, you just drop it in Mods. You only need to open and extract the content if it's compressed (.zip or .rar are the two most common compressed formats.)(And note: if you download a sim or a lot, they always come compressed, and you extract the contents into Tray rather than Mods. Only "regular" CC (hair, clothing, objects, walls, floors, etc) get put into Mods.)

If it is, it would be best to unsync Sims 4 and One Drive as it can causes issues.

Hello @Withered_Heart1 The package files sound like they have now been associated with notepad by mistake. You could try bringing it back to an unknown file association, then download another cc item that is a package item and it then may fix itself up.This link explains how to make it have an unknown association.https://www.quora.com/In-Windows-10-how-do-you-change-file-association-back-to-unknown-program

Have you tried using another file extractor, such as 7-zip?

I can not find a mods file in my Sims4 folder. Can i create it? I am running sims through Origin since its the only way it will work on windows 10

Hello @jimjjf
Try checking to see if the mods folder may be in One Drive . If it is, it would be best to unsync Sims 4 and One Drive as it can causes issues.
