Pet STILL missing

While playing the Sims 4, I got a notice that my pet was running away. Okay, fine. Only problem is he’s been missing for a VERY long time and my sims are no longer sad about his disappearance. His picture is grayed out, I posted a missing alert via the computer, I can’t call him, bathe him, put him up for adoption, reset him, nothing. Is there any way I can fix this without having to start a new game?

    @damivalentine Is he also physically still away ? There's an issue where they can get stuck away on the icon but they will have returned to the lot.

    I'm not aware of any solutions how to fix it but I can take a look if you are willing to send me your save.
