June 21, 2020 FOOD PILES after my sim eats. This started the day after Eco Living patch was given to us.
I have the same issue. I assumed it was a byproduct of the new expansion pack Eco Living, as it is leftover food ... on the floor.
I re-booted, re-paired and etc. Nothing. Also the food pile when clicked on says You can not delete.
What the fark is going on,
I'm having the same issue, my poor sims dorm is filled with the piles with no way to dispose of them
You can pick them up and recycle them or fertilize plants with them.

Perhaps take note on in which circumstance it happens? Does the lot have the lot trait Reduce and Recycle?
I only see them in sim's personal inventory, and often after they dumpster dive which gives an intentional impression..
