Played Once, Never Worked Agin

Hi. I bought this game the day after it came out from Gamestop, downlaoded it through origin and played it for a few hours. After that, it never worked again. First my problem was that when my sim went to wrok it would come back and it would still be grayed out and i could not check its moods, I tried many ways to fix this problem, to no avail. Then the worse problems started happening, the game would close randomly, sound tracks would be played over one another, ect. Now I cannot even open the game at all it crashes immediatly. There seems to be no more files of it on my computer at all, and no matter how many times I put in Disc 1 and try to reinstall it nothig happens, or origin it says that the game's file was busy or somthing. This game is litterally unplayable and I have been so frustrated trying to fix ti for months.

PLEASE help me see if my game would ever work, or if I wasted $40 on a piece of plastic. 😕mileymad:

    Have you tried hitting repair on the Origin client ? Right click on the game there

    Of course i did. it did not fix the problem

    Hm, that sounds pretty rough. Try out the steps below and let me know how it goes. Fingers crossed!

    Head over to your Documents and then Electronic Arts. If you have a Sims 4 folder listed here, click and drag it to your desktop. I would also rename it, for extra assurance that the file won't be affected by the next steps.

    After they're uninstalled, I would recommend using Ccleaner to clear out any other files that are lingering.


    Reboot your PC in Safe Mode with Networking. If you are more comfortable using the discs, then pop in The Sims 4 disc 1 and reinstall Origin and the game. Otherwise, I would recommend going to origin.com and downloading the client from there and then downloading The Sims 4 from the EA servers.

    Launch your PC in normal mode and attempt to play the game. If it works, move The Sims 4 folder that you moved to your desktop earlier back to Documents>Electronic Arts (you can delete the new The Sims 4 folder that generated there) and try the game again. If the issue returns, then you most likely have a corrupt saved game and you will either need to find and delete the save file or completely delete The Sims 4 folder and start a new game.
