Please help. Data damaged

I need help. I downloaded a cc that made the error unable to start data damaged or missing. I am on a Mac and I use an external hard drive. I removed the cc all of it deleted and still was receiving the error. I uninstalled and redownloaded the sims 4 and the EA app and nothing will work I’m still getting the error message. The sharing settings are correct.
