Re: Best Sims 4 Gaming Laptop with a $600-$800 budget

@OniPlaysSims  For $800 or a little less, the best graphics card you can currently get is either an Nvidia 1650 or the slightly faster 1650 ti.  Both can run all Sims 4 packs together on ultra settings, although with enough high poly (high-resolution) custom content, you might find you need to turn one or two settings down to high.  Systems with the much faster 1660 ti are usually $900 and up.

Most of the options below have a 512 GB solid state drive, which would hold all your Sims 4 content twice over no matter how much cc you have.  If that's not enough, there are two options with more storage, although most of it is on a slower mechanical drive (HDD).  That's fine for bulk storage, but you wouldn't want your cc loading from it.

The cheapest option I found with a 1650 is this one, for $650.  It's a good laptop, not the highest rated in this category but perfectly serviceable.

This one is a slightly newer version of the same laptop, except it has a 256 GB SSD/1 TB HDD combo, for $30 more:

This Acer performs a bit better in gaming, but only by a few percentage points, so the difference isn't a huge deal.  It has equivalent components to the ones above.

This Dell has the slightly faster 1650 ti and otherwise equivalent hardware:

This Lenovo is highly rated overall, which is why it's a bit more expensive ($810).  It has a 256 GB SSD/1 TB HDD and a regular 1650, not ti, but it does get a bit more performance out of the card than the others.

If you have more questions, either about any of these laptops or in general, pleasae feel free to ask.

@OniPlaysSims  That laptop is in the same category as the Acer, maybe a bit higher quality depending on which reviews you read.  I saw the same model when I did my search, but the reason I didn't recommend it was because of its relatively small hard drive.  256 GB is enough for Sims 4 and all your related content, but you did say you wanted a lot of storage, and 256 GB (minus some overhead) is not a lot.

If you like that model though, and you're comfortable with the small SSD, you can get a slightly newer model for a lower price directly from HP:

Or you could pay $70 to upgrade to a 512 GB SSD, and wait a few weeks for delivery.

Okay, gotcha! Between the HP/Acer model and the Lenovo Legion, which one would you say is better in your opinion? I had to rule out the Dell because I saw many reviews that said the design is really bad quality and the hinges of the computer have broken with not even a month’s use yet.

@OniPlaysSims  I would say the Lenovo Legion is the best of the group.  It has better cooling, runs quieter, and gets a bit more performance out of its components.  The differences are small though, not enough to convince you to get the Legion if you like one of the others better for other reasons.
