Re: "Can’t run with the Video Card in this System"

I got this message after my game is not responding and had to force quit it.
I was playing as usual, and then I have to leave my laptop. I came back to my laptop screen saver, and then my game were freeze.
I wait a couple of minutes and nothing's changed, so I force quit the game. When I try to re launch my game, the pop up appear.
Already tried fixing my game, and this message still appear and my driver seem to be updated.
This is the first time for me, I never have trouble launching the game before.
I attached the DxDiag file.

  • krupukriuk  I've split your post into its own thread because the thread where you originally posted is quite old.  Thanks for providing a dxdiag, which doesn't show the reason for this error but does show that a component of Autodesk software is crashing.  So disable or uninstall it for now.

For the issue itself, please try running Sims 4 on the integrated graphics chip, then specify it should use the dedicated card, as in, you're testing each one separately.  Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings, find Sims 4 (TS4_x64.exe) if it's not already listed, and you can choose the power-saving Intel iGPU, or the Nvidia GPU for performance.  Pick one, restart your computer, try to play, and if you get the same error, pick the other, restart, and try again.

If you get the same error for both, please check your antivirus for recent actions involving the game or the EA App.  Sometimes an AV can block Sims 4 from accessing something in the graphics pipeline, at least as far as we can tell, and cause this particular error.

    Thank you for the reply.
Changing the GPU preference to power saving do the work for me.
I can access my game as usual, appreciate the help. Thanks again 🙏

  • krupukriuk  That's good, but it would still be better to play using the dedicated graphics card.  Do you want to try to get it working?  If so, check your antivirus anyway to make sure it's not doing anything with Sims 4 or the EA App.

If that's not the issue, do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Nvidia graphics driver, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

You can leave the Intel driver alone.
