Re: can't open games or even look at them

@dontronnnn  Try manually updating the EA App.  First, restart your computer.  Then go here:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop

and launch the EAUpdater.exe.  Let me know whether the App loads properly.  If it does, try again to launch Sims 4 through Steam.

it sadly didn’t work, I tried updating and whenever I click play on steam, it says running then stops a few seconds after by itself

@dontronnnn  Does the EA App load properly now?  If not please uninstall it with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) and reinstall.

If the App works as normal but Sims 4 does not, try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

@dontronnnn  Great, so now you can start moving your content from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one.  Keep testing along the way, and if the game stops working, you'll know that one of the files you just moved is a problem and can split that last batch and retest until you find the culprit.

Where the game has created a new file or folder, it's best to use that rather than your existing one.  For example, move over the contents of Tray, not the Tray folder itself, and don't bother with small files that don't contain any meaningful data.  For a description of what the files are and what you might want to preserve, please see this post:
