Re: CC not showing up in game

@FormalFudge  Try deleting localthumbcache.package, in your Sims 4 user folder.

If that doesn't help, please move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Launch the game to create a clean folder, reenable mods and custom content, and quit.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Then move one mod that you know is updated for yesterday's patch—download a new version if necessary—to the new Sims 4 folder, and see whether it appears in-game.  Let me know either way.

@FormalFudge  Please load the game to the Main Menu, click Load Game, and hover over the folder icon below the other info on one of your saves.  You'll see the file path to the saves folder; please write it down here, or take a screenshot.

Please also take a screenshot of the Mods folder where you're adding your mods.  Make sure to include the address bar, above the list of files and folders.

I think this is what you asked for? (I put the cc back in for now so my desktop isnt cluttered)

@FormalFudge  Yes, that's what I asked for.  It looks like your custom content, in the second screenshot, isn't in Documents though: the file path is just listed as "The Sims 4 > Mods."  You need to move it to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods.

I had moved it so it was easier to get to while fixing it, the problem was there before that though

@FormalFudge  Is the option to enable custom content still checked when you load the game?  Does the cc not show up when you move it back to the Mods folder?  Please post the file path to the folder where you've been adding it, just to double-check.

@FormalFudge  It's strange that the custom content isn't showing up at all.  The only thing I can't see is whether there's a resource.cfg in the Mods folder, but you can double-check yourself.

As an experiment, try creating a new admin user account on your computer and playing in that.  You won't need to reinstall Origin or Sims 4, but you also won't have access to your existing user content.  (That can be addressed later.)  Download a fresh copy of just one mod or cc item and see whether it shows up in-game.  Let me know either way.

@FormalFudge  That's odd, but a good kind of odd.  If you figure out what you did to make it work, or even have a list of things you did when it started working, I'd be interested to know.

I haven't done anything other than what I've posted. I just opened it today to play without cc and it started working. The trick is to just give up apparently
