Re: [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 Failed to Launch Game

So, essentially i downloaded the game and all my add-ons purchased through steam a couple days ago and was going to play today, unfortunately no matter what i do it refuses to launch.

It says it's a error on our end, but it's been ongoing for nearly a week now??? I ended all EA tasks in the task manager, I uninstalled and redownloaded EA App, I cleared cache on EA AND Steam, I uninstalled and redownloaded the game, and it's still not working. Any help?

Also I don't have any cc or mods in the game atm, I am literally jsut trying to open the game for the first time.

It's honestly a bit annoying especially because of how much money I've put into getting the expansions and now I'm not even getting to play. At this point, I really hope there is a fix and anyone knows what to do. If one of my tech friends figures it out I'll let you know!

It says. "could not start the game. An error has kept the game from it, try again later."
I have not done anything, I just woke up and wanted to go into the game and it just won't let me... 😣I use steam btw.

I'm dealing with the same issue as well. You could try turning off your controlled folder access, it worked for some. Sadly not for me.

I deal with the same issue. Have you tried the basic things like clearing the cache or maybe even reinstalling it? You could also try to turn off controlled folder access and see if it works, since that was the solution for some.

Lumine404 JTMoo etfsb7r6tvzj  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

Please also check your antivirus for recent Sims- or EA-related actions.  If necessary, set exceptions for TS4_x64.exe, TS4_DX9_x64.exe, TS4_Launcher_x64.exe, and EADesktop.exe.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

What fixed it for me was the first option of moving the folder out and then launching it! It's a little odd since I hadn't managed to run the game ever before on this computer, but since it works now I'm all good, thank you so much!
