Re: DirectX 11 Technical Issues and Feedback Thread
I acknowledge that the performance of The Sims 4 on DirectX 11 has improved significantly since its implementation, especially in terms of FPS stability, which used to be simply terrible and much lower than DirectX 9. The performance of DX 11 when the game's camera is zoomed in is also much closer to DX9 now.
However, DirectX 11 still shows lower performance when the game's camera is at a certain level of zoom out, resulting in FPS drops that, in certain scenarios or worlds, can range from 10 to 15 frames. I also notice greater instability and FPS variation when the camera is zoomed out while it's being moved, depending on the world.
Here is an image I made, in DX9, of one of the neighborhoods in Ravenwood (at the house of those two ghost Sims). As you can see, 60FPS, graphics at the highest quality.
Here is another image, in the same place and position, but with the game on DX 11. As you can see, 10 FPS less.
I hope you continue to make improvements so that this performance discrepancy is further reduced.
