Re: EA App claims packs are installed, yet they are not

@ZedKGamingI have this problem before too and see if this is your problem: having both sims 4 and CAS demo installed.
The EA app has technical difficulties to distinguish The Sims 4 and CAS demo. Go to the demo's install folder, remove the pack's file, rename the demo's folder (add - or something), and re-download the pack. Do not uninstall cas demo, ea app no longer let you re-download it. But ea app will still let you run the the demo.

@Katbluenz  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and write Demo in the search field in the upper-right corner.  Once the search finishes, find the Create a Sim Demo on the list, select it, and click the "Open file location" menu button.  That will jump you to its location.

I am having an issue with my recently purchased and downloaded Growing Together pack not showing in the game. I still have a CAS Demo folder on my PC. I'm trying to follow the instructions quoted above, and I've been able to "rename the demo's folder," but I don't understand the first part of the solution given -- "Go to the demo's install folder, remove the pack's file" <-- what exactly do I need to do in order to "remove the pack's file" from the demo's folder? Please explain it like I'm five years old. Thank you.

@kimberlyaz1992  Go into the CAS Demo folder and remove the subfolder that corresponds to the pack that won't show up in-game.  For example, if the affected pack is Growing Together, remove the EP13 folder; if it's Seasons, remove EP05.

OK, thank you. Here is an explanation of what I did to resolve the issue where I purchased & downloaded the Growing Together pack on my Windows PC but it wasn't showing in-game because I still had the Create a Sim Demo installed:

    1) Visit C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4 Create a Sim Demo and move the EP13 folder into C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4

    2) Rename C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4 Create a Sim Demo by adding the word Renamed to the beginning of the folder name, so it is now C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Renamed The Sims 4 Create a Sim Demo

    3) Launch and sign in to the EA App

    4) Under Installed Games in the EA App, click on The Sims 4 > Manage > Repair

    5) After repairing the game, click The Sims 4 > Play

Upon launching the game, the new pack was detected.

Seriously, seriously hoping the instructions by kimberlyaz1992 are working, because I'm another person who found 'EP13' installed in that CAS Demo folder (screenshot attached)... I've moved it to the correct folder and renamed the CAS Demo as per these instructions and am currently waiting as the EA App 'Repairs'. Fingers crossed.

edit: I launched the game and now it's partially showing up. -_- I got the 'welcome' screen at launch, and I can see "milestones" in my Simology, that's new, but ZERO new build/buy and San Sequoia doesn't exist either!

I want to thank you for posting this.  I tried it with my game and it is working now.  I am so happy.  I actually was going to transfer some of my games to my X-Box.  I thank you and God I don't.  Next time I have this problem I know what to do.

@kimberlyaz1992 Thank you! I followed the steps above and The Sims 4 Growing Together finally downloading and appeared. I couldn't rename The Sims 4 Create a Sim Demo for some reason. The other steps worked for me.

I can't believe this is still an issue!  I uninstalled the demo because I don't need it and can't play it through the EA app anyway.  Now I have the option, again, to install the kit, and now that it's installed it's popping up in my game.  Thank you!

  • Another thing I just noticed is that the DLC is downloaded in

    C:\Program Files\EA games\The Sims4\delta folder

But not placed within the main folder where the rest of the dlc is located.

Looks like there is two places in the Sims 4 folder where things are located.
