Mine has been doing this a lot lately as well! The last time I played the game was on the 28th of February and ever since then I can only go as far as the plumbob rotating on the blue background and then it crashes. The EA App says "Some features have been turned off because the app is open on another device" but I doubt that's it.
Puzzleaddict mentioned in another thread to open the game in a brand new folder (go to Documents > Electronic Arts and drag the entire "The Sims 4" folder onto your desktop and then launch the game again) and that worked perfectly for me. However, when I tried putting my Tray files and saves in the new folder, the game again wouldn't get past the plumbob. I hope this doesn't mean that my files are corrupted...
I also updated my NVIDIA drive, so make sure your drives are up to date, and then try the new folder method and see if your game loads. The issue, however, is that we all want to keep playing with our families. It's so frustrating.
