Re: How do I change the game from 64 bit to 32 bit?

@mynameisLihahaha  The 32-bit version of Sims 4 is no longer available: it was officially retired in December of last year.  So your only option is the 64-bit version.

Are you seeing any actual performance issues?  If so, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Either way, please post a screenshot of the error you're seeing.  I'd like to report it to EA people since it's unhelpful and misleading at this point in time.

    I also have this issue. My game is running quite slow and not responding as it should. I have no idea what to do.

    Hi, I keep getting the same exact warning message whenever I boot up my game, even without mods installed, the "You are running the 64 bit game executable on a system that does not meet recommended specifications and may experience instability or performance problems. We recommend that you switch to the 32 bit executable in Origin via the game properties panel." message, even though Origin AND the 32 bit executable doesn't exist anymore -_- (I play through the EA application). I've scoured over almost the entire internet for any solutions and have yet to come across one. I know my pc cant be the issue because it is a 64 bit system and has more than enough RAM to run TS4, however, just in case, I have attached a dxdiag. As for gameplay, it is extremely choppy and laggy, long loading times, and poor graphics. Putting the game in the lowest possible settings doesn't seem to remedy the issue either. I would LOVE it if you'd be able to help me out!! 🙂

    Also, just incase you have to ask;

    - Yes, I did try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

    - I did try "repair" the game through the EA App

    - I did try downloading the game to an external hard drive(2TB), just in case the issue was a matter of storage

    - There's more than enough storage left on my PC; 114 GB free of 237GB

    @z8lxu2xpvhce

    Your PC barely meets minimum requirements for the base game without any expansions. Try to disconnect one of your monitors while you play and see if that helps.

    @z8lxu2xpvhce  What game version do you see in the lower-right corner of the Main Menu?  Please list the entire number, i.e. 1.xxx.xxx.xxxx.  I ask because this error shouldn't be showing up anymore.

    For the issue itself, jpkarlsen is correct that your computer is on the weak side for Sims 4, even without add-ons.  One thing that may help is restarting immediately before you want to play, and not opening any other programs, aside from the EA App of course.  This will help free up resources, which is not a cure but can improve things around the margins.

    @dxx83ocf00mb  Please post a screenshot of the error you're seeing.  Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

    I will say that your 4 GB installed RAM may be the issue, or if not exactly that, how much memory your computer is using when you try to launch Sims 4.  So please check how much memory the system itself uses.  Restart your laptop, wait five minutes without doing anything, open the Task Manager, wait about 30 seconds, and let me know how much RAM is in use.  That's the percentage value in the Memory header.

    @qpka8slq1eid  Your computer is significantly below the minimum requirements for Sims 4.  I'm not sure there's much you can do here, unfortunately.  The graphics chip doesn't have a newer driver, and the 3 GB RAM is extremely limiting in Windows 10.  You can upgrade the memory if you can find supported modules, but I'm not sure it's worth investing any money into this machine given its age.

    Without spending money, the only suggestion I have is to increase the size of the page file.  Here's how (option one):

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/77692-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10-a.html#option1

    Set the minimum to 12288 and the max to 16384, and restart the computer.

    @Annalisetteo11  Access to your dxdiag is restricted.  Please either change it so that "anyone with this link" can read it, or attach the dxdiag to a reply here.

    @dxx83ocf00mb  Your first screenshot shows that almost all system memory is in use.  That's not surprising with only 4 GB RAM installed, and a bit of that set aside for the integrated graphics chip.  It's probably also the source of the error.

    You can still play Sims 4, but I would suggest not running anything alongside the game, to keep as much memory available as possible.  Additionally, open the Task Manager's Startup section and disable any apps that don't need to be running all the time.  Only a few do need to start with Windows: the Intel graphics software, Windows Defender or whatever antivirus you use, that kind of thing.  Everything else (Edge, the EA App, random update services) can stay closed until you open them manually.

    When you're ready to play Sims 4, restart your computer immediately beforehand, and don't open anything aside from the game and the EA App.  Let me know how it runs.
