@2uo7ip0ac99w I don't know where you heard that using an external drive would make your game run better, but that source is not to be trusted at all. The speed of the external drive and its connection determine how quickly the game loads: a very slow HDD or a poor-quality cable (or a low-quality port on the laptop) can drag out the loading process substantially. If your computer's internal drive is fast, the contrast will be especially obvious.
If your computer's internal drive or drives are close to full, that can slow down Windows and other processes, sure. But the solution there is to offload other data, or other applications to the external drive, not Sims 4.
