Re: interaction menu slow

@Millgaming1472

Go to Documents/ElectronicArts - inside will be The Sims4 folder
Step 1. Rename The Sims4 folder to "The Sims4 old"
Step 2. Fix the game in Origin
Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Step 3. Turn on the game - a new game folder will be created and you will have two - one old, one new
Step 4. Check if you still have this problem in the newly created game folder. Start a new game with a random sim and play for 10 minutes. Save and check if this problem disappeared in the new game
If yes
Step 5. Delete in the new game folder following folders:
"saves" and Tray.
Step 6. Go to "The Sims 4 old" folder and copy - your "saves " folder.
Step. 7, Paste this folder in a newly created game folder.
Step 8. Do the same with Tray folder and TrayDeleteItems file
Step 9. If you don't use mods - skip this step.
Check if there are newly updated version mods you are using.
Then copy and paste your mods and CC from old mods folder to the new one. First copy the scripts mods every time checking if the game is working properly. If you have a lot of CC try 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
Step. 10. If all is OK - delete The Sims4 old folder.

If it will not work could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

The basic problem I see is a too weak graphics card. Your card has only 64 MB of dedicated memory and the requirement is 128MB. This also applies to shared memory. If the card has insufficient memory it will borrow memory from the system. If your system had a minimum of 8 GB RAM, then the interaction in the game would be smoother but still not perfect, but for now, your system has only 3982MB RAM available OS Memory...
You have also problems with your system.
Check if your Windows is up to date
    https://support.microsoft.com/help/4027667/windows-10-update
Run the command of SFC /scannow to repair system files.

    @Millgaming1472

You can add it to the post but if you had fulfilled the list of command there or the scan did not show any serious problems, I more can do nothing.
As I have written your basic problem is a weak graphics card and a small amount of RAM memory

@Millgaming1472  Your computer is relatively weak for Sims 4, so it's not surprising that it would struggle.  Please list the expansion and game packs you currently have installed (you don't need to list stuff packs).  Please also run a new dxdiag, in case anything's changed.

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

Move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop; when you launch the game, a clean folder will be created with no content.  Don't add anything at all to this new folder.  Start a new save for testing, and let me know how the game runs: do you get delays, does it crash, that kind of thing.

@puzzlezaddict The game/expansion packs I have installed are cats and dogs, city living, get to work, seasons, parenthood and vampires, I do have a stuff pack aswell but you said it doesn't need to be listed. I will link my dxdiag in my next reply.

@Millgaming1472   I apologize for the delay.

Given the errors in your new dxdiag, it's a good idea to run DISM and sfc again, just to be completely thorough.  I'd also like to see a log from sfc once it's run.  Here's what to do:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Unless sfc reports it found no corrupt files, please do the following:

    • In the search box in the lower left corner of your screen, type cmd
    • Command Prompt will be listed; click Run as administrator
    • Copy and paste this command:  findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt ,  and enter
    • The log will land on your desktop; please attach it here

However, it may be that your processor is just too weak to run the game properly.  You can try to get the best performance possible by not running anything besides Origin alongside the game, by playing while your computer is offline, and a few other minor adjustments.  (I can list them if you like.)  But once you've ruled out system errors, there's only so much improvement you can get.

@Millgaming1472  I'm not sure what the second part of that is, but you can reopen Command Prompt or Powershell and run sfc now.  Let me know how it goes.

    @puzzlezaddict This is what I got for sfc : C:\WINDOWS\system32> sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

@Millgaming1472  Please test the game now, in its most ideal environment.  That means the following:

    • Move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the old folder but won't be read by the game, which will create a clean folder.)
    • Restart your computer, and don't open any other apps.
    • Open Origin, put it in offline mode, and then take your laptop completely offline, as in, disable wifi and/or pull the ethernet cable.
    • At the Main Menu, put the options on low if they're not already.
    • Start a new save, have a look around, travel, etc. to see how it runs.

This will give you an idea of what you can expect in terms of game performance.  If you still get lag, the last thing to try is a clean boot, and again don't open any other apps, and take your computer offline before you play.

@puzzlezaddict I am yet to try what you have suggested because I have only just seen your reply, but I thought it may be necessary to mention that my firmware drive constantly has issues, ever since August last year it has had a ! In a triangle beside it, it is giving me code 10 which is asking me to restart but even after multiple restarts it does not fix the issue, I’ve looked into it but can still not figure out the issue, but I will try what you suggested ASAP! 🙂

@puzzlezaddict After doing as said with reloading, the game runs fine, clicking on fridges, other sims and pcs per usual takes up to 10 seconds to load the interaction menu after the click sound the game makes when you click to interact, and moving my cursor around on my screen is very delayed in it seems to almost “teleport” around my screen.
