Re: Jagged Edges

@c_clare001

Does it look like this?
https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/weird-redblue-outlines/

According to Crinrict, this happens if you have Stereoscopic 3D enabled for your graphics card. You could play the game with 3D-glasses if you like. Turn off Stereoscopic 3D function in the graphics setting of your graphic card or wear 3D-Glasses.

If it looks another go to the Origin/My games library - right-click on TS4 - option: Repair
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.

I don't work for EA

  • No not at all. It's like all the edges of the objects and sims are choppy. I have to zoom in really close for anything to look decent

    Could you show a photo of this here? You can do it an option: insert/edit image. But select "Reply" not "Quick Reply".
    For now, if you have any mods move the mods folder to the desktop, delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder, turn on the game then a new empty mods folder will be created. Check as it works without mods. It is unlikely that outdated CC will cause a graphics error, but sometimes it can happen.
  • I'll try to get a screenshot later as I'm at work right now. But I've already tried all the rest. I've only noticed it since installing University and Island Living over the holidays

    @c_clare001  Also, take a screen shot of your graphic setting in Game Options. Make sure the Edge Smoothing is set on High.
    And it probably would be good to post info about your graphics card, there are some players here good with hardware. Here is how you make a dxdiag:
    https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

    Make sure your graphic drivers are updated.

    I have Nvidia, but the advise for it could perhaps be applied to a Radeon/AMD control panel? Look for anti-aliasing options to be on and test your way. There may be global as well as particular application settings to chose from, make sure they match, so that global settings aren't overriding the particular ones. These settings may be restored to default when updating drivers, so you need to check them again whenever you do.

    And is there any difference playing in Fullscreen/Windowed/Windowed Fullscreen?

    I'll try but know nothing about Raedon control panel. I dont even know how to access it. I'll check the edge smoothing and trying it on fullscreen. Thank you
