I cannot. I already tried that. I've also tried the following: 😇 Exiting the game to the EA app and using the "repair" function, but with and without the addition of "-Dx11". (b) Updating all mods that have available updates. (c) Removing mods.

It will sometimes let me save "in live mode" ONLY if I go to Build Mode within Live Mode, but sometimes that causes it to crash. It doesn't let me save in actual plain Live Mode though. And as said, my game now crashes no matter what I try to do, after I added the "-Dx11". It still does even after I deleted it. (And just to cover all bases, I only added/took away the "-Dx11" thing when I had already exited the game. I never tried to take away that, or mods, or any of that while the game was up and running.)

@ACduousDCduous That's only half the dxdiag, and half the interesting info. But it does bring up one suggestion: try forcing the game to run in DirectX 11 mode if it's not already. You can see which mode it's using at the Main Menu, in the lower-right corner, to the right of the version number. It'll say DX9 or DX11.

If you see DX9, right-click the desktop, select the Nvidia Control Panel, choose Manage 3D Settings > Program settings, find TS4_Launcher_x64 on the list, and select the high-performance Nvidia processor. Repeat for TS4_x64. If this alone doesn't force DX11 mode, specify the Nvidia processor under Global settings, at least as a test.

If this doesn't help with the crashing, please create a new dxdiag, upload it to a free filesharing site, and link it here. Make sure "anyone with the link" can view it.

@ACduousDCduous When I say right-click the desktop, I mean right-click your computer screen but not any particular icon. You'll see a number of options, one of which should be the Nvidia Control Panel. The reason this is important (and I should have said so, but it was late and I was in a hurry, sorry) is in part that Sims 4 often "sees" the Intel iGPU and choose DX9 mode. But beyond that, there have been some crashing issues with newer Intel graphics chips and DX9 mode, and it's important to make sure that the system is using the Nvidia GPU for Sims 4 all the time, not switching back and forth.

Having said that, your dxdiag doesn't list the type of crashes indicative of this particular problem. So we'll need to look elsewhere.

First, try playing with your computer offline. You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run. Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled. If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

If that fixes the issues, you can selective reenable services until you find the culprit, and then you'll know what to uninstall or at least leave disabled for the time being.
