Re: my sims 4 wont open via ea app

@sczelaya  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If the game still won't open, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Thank you so much, it worked! But also keeping in mind what you said (how my saves won't be read temporarily by the game) --- I'm wondering if that affects the features of that game. And by that I mean how when I loaded into the game there was no "play scenario" or "new game" option, just gallery and settings. Just wanted to know if that was normal. But thank you anyways!

@sczelaya  When the only option is to start a new game, you just get a big Play button.  Once you have a save, the other options should all be available.  Let me know if they're not.

You can also move your saves from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one, and the game will probably still work fine.  Saves aren't usually the reason Sims 4 stops loading.

I moved my saves from my old folder to the new one just as you said and the save game I used as a test run got deleted. It made me start from scratch and it shows nothing saved in my library and none of my mods will show up in CAS. (FYI I'm more of a CAS player than livemode player) So overall right now it's just the base game with my expansion packs with no saves at all and nothing is coming back. Thanks so much for your help anyways to even get the game be opened.

@sczelaya  Do you mean the file itself was deleted, or only that the save didn't show up in-game?  If the files are still present but not loading, please post a screenshot of those files.  If the files are gone, let me know whether OneDrive is running on your computer, even if you never use it, and how full it is.

The files are still intact in my folder. I even moved the sims 4 back to electronic arts folder and moved the electronic arts folder to desktop. I thought the game would just temporarily not read my game files but nothing will show up in game. And it's odd because I have hundreds of CC files for cas. (If you see the new sim in my library I just made that one out of boredom LMAO).

My bad, here are better screenshots (I included my mods folder because I'm also incredibly worried about that) I have more saves than shown in the photo. I've barely been playing the Sims in fear that I'd break anymore stuff in the game. I honestly just want my game back to normal, I care more about my library saves than my live mode saves so if I lose my gameplay saves I won't be too upset.

@sczelaya  From your screenshots, OneDrive is syncing your files, and I'm wondering if that's at least part of the issue here.  Do you want to keep using OneDrive?  There are ways to make this work and ways to get rid of it, all covered here if you're interested:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Sims-4-saves-user-content-disappearing-PC/m-p/12475370#M249772

The current question is whether your saves and Tray items (what you've saved to the in-game library) are in the folder Sims 4 is reading.  I can't tell from the screenshot because I don't know the file path to that folder.  So please find that file path, as described in the link I posted before:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

And compare it to the full file path to one of your saves or something else that isn't loading.  You can see most of the file path in the address bar in your screenshots, but to get the exact location, please right-click one of the files and select Properties > General.  The Location is the file path, and it has to match the one you see in-game exactly.  For example, if one of the file paths lists OneDrive but the other does not, that would explain the issue.

If you can't figure out what's going on yourself, please post the in-game file path as well as one from one of your saves that isn't loading.  As a side note, the saves in your screenshot are all from December and earlier.  I don't know whether this is expected or you have newer saves whose files have disappeared; if you need help finding them, the guide I've posted (first link) has instructions for that too.
