Re: My sims folder doesn't look right

@maybemayday First the game installer will only let you install the GAME files to a different location. The game user files which are created only after the game has successfully started the first time. The game user files are located in the user Documents folder of the boot device normally C:. This can be changed but has to be done at the operating system level - not by the game installer. This location is hard coded into the game. There is no way I know of to relocate the EA app with the installer. Unless you really understand the Windows file structure I recommend you make changes very gently as you can make the operating system unbootable. I assume you are talking about a usb external device. The device designation (E:?) is a virtual designation. In other words that designation can change depending on how usb devices are loaded at boot time. What the means if your game thinks the game files are on E: and the usb device is now F: the game will not find the game files. There is a way to assign a permanent device designation in disk management. The more you change the default settings the harder it will be for you and/or others to help you should there be issues. Your dealing with two different systems - the operating system (Windows) and the game system. This is what you have to work with. You can't shove stuff (well you can) and hope it will work because it probably won't.
