Re: Notification wall full?

Hello everyone!

I have been having this issue as well for some days now. When I start the game and it reaches the Main Menu, I get a notiification saying that the notification wall is full. Next, I click the X and close it and then when I enter a neighbourhood it appears again... I have taken out my Mods folder and tryed to repair the game on Origin but it still happens. Do you have any idea what could I try next? Thanks.

And thank you for your amazing work in our community 🙂

Thank you both for your time and suggestions.

You message was split from the other thread because it is somewhat different..

Please try as a test to start a new game without Mods and CC (first delete localthumbcache.package). Play it long enough for the Notification wall message to appear. discard the message and save then restart the game Does the note stay away or does it reappear. If it now stays away it was likely caused by one of your Mods. Look for updates. You should do that anyway. Whenever there is an update to the game.

I'm sorry to have replied in the other thread, I didn't want to create a new one with a problem that could be the same as an existing one. I did delete every Mod and CC I had in my game before coming here for help. I just tryed what you suggested, including deleting the localthumbcache.package file and making sure there was no Mods or CC in my game, starting a new game, playing it and discarding the notifications that would apear while playing. Saved the game and opened it again and the problem remains. The message appears everytime the game starts, in the main menu and then if I click in a new game it appears on CAS again and if I load a previous file it appears after the loading screen too. Should I reinstall the whole game?
Thank you so much for your help and for answering so fast.

I'm sorry I used the other thread to expose my problem. I thought it was similar. I did delete all my Mods and CC before coming here for help and also made sure that my game was updated and even tryed to repair it on Origin. I just tryed out your suggestion and after making sure there was no Mods or CC and deleting the localthumbcache.package file I played the game the way you said. The issue is still happening: I still get the notification of a Full Notification Wall whenever I start my game when the main menu launches (then after I discard it and start a new game it appear in CAS again or if I load an existing save, it appears after the loading screen ends). Should I reinstall the whole game?
Thank you for your time and help.

Please try to repair the game. Rightclick the game in Origin and select Repair.

Normally older notifications are just overwritten.

I did repair my game, two times now. Going to reinstall the whole game and see if it makes any difference.
    Thanks for your replies.

Not really in my experience. Since I first got the game, if I don't empty the notifications, it just keeps popping up and bugging me. It's ALWAYS worked like that.

It's annoying AF actually. Comes up every so often and I always have to stop what I'm doing to empty it.

@Simmer1304hI figured out what it was since I ran into this exact issue in the last few days. I went through the whole thing, even with a fresh install! I initially did some research on this and there wasn't anything I could find when this problem was described years ago, but now I know.

It turned out that the gallery window (news column) was the culprit. Oddly, getting rid of my mods worked in part too, but deleting CC wouldn't be ideal for me, let alone the fact I couldn't pinpoint which one it was (not to mention it still happens whether mods are enabled or not). It didn't look like my mods were actually the problem.

Somehow, of all the people you're subscribed to, and all your own content you save, is tied to the notifications list. So, none of the people replying to you know what you're talking about because there's no trash bin icon to get rid of them. You have to [x] out each one of those things individually, as it's not actually a part of the logged notification bar (there isn't one on the main menu). It's rather convoluted, and the error message is misleading. This doesn't help the social aspect of the game, because I can see one running into this problem for a long time unless they change it.
