Solution provided by Homik1231 on the Polish forum:
"Try to install the sims via epic games, the installation moves normally to the ea app, I had the same problem, but installing via epic helped me."
It worked for me 🙂
Do you know if we have to purchase everything all over again if we download via Epics, or is there a way to connect EA accounts to prove we've owned them previously and are simply downloading them from elsewhere?
I don't see that Epic supports Sims 3, only Sims 4.. so we couldn't link it through there anyway. I also signed up for EA play to see if that was the issue (it never was before) but same problem still persists, can't launch Sims 3 at all
