Re: Saves won`t work after change from 64bit to Legacy 32bit version

@essstumn

This is not a bug, As you can see in the FAQ

Will my save files still work in The Sims 4 Legacy Edition?

Yes, save files will still work with The Sims 4 Legacy Edition. Your save files will automatically transfer over when you first launch The Sims 4 Legacy Edition.

Note: Standard The Sims 4 save games will only be transferable into The Sims 4 Legacy Edition if the save was generated before the Legacy Edition update to the base game. If you play and save in a newer version of The Sims 4, that save game will not be transferable to the Legacy Edition.

The main issue is that if you save the game with the 64 bit version, the game will be at a newer version than the Legacy Edition has and you can't use a save game that was used with a newer patch level on an older patch level

Do you really need the 32 bit on the older computer ? Most Windows PC should be able to run a 64 bit OS.

  • I can`t remember how I was install windows 10 on old PC but it never was x64 because it`s intel and x64 was found only by AMD I can`t remember when I was read it but as well I used x64 on my old PC even it`s showed on device panel that I have dual core x64 it was always been x86-32bit about FAQ it says saves will work only for Standard version not Digital Deluxe version as well there is no sign about any error I `cant send video it`s larger than 20480000 to prove save works just not loads in when I use that save, Legacy version is great The Sims 4 works perfect with highest video settings even I won`t enable Legacy Edition at Origin I just need to install it, I even need Legacy Edition to my new computer, so what`s is mean not standard saves will they work then even if Legacy won`t be as base save and what means upload size 20480000 I can`t send video cause of limits is it`s bytes or I guess it`s 20MB? I never tested it on old PC but it always was 32bit, like it goes great on my new computer.

    @essstumn I'm really sorry but I have troubles understanding what you're saying.

    You can't use a save game that was saved with an new patch on an older patch level and the legacy version is several patches behind now.

    You're welcome to post both your systems DxDiag for review to see if you need the legacy edition.
  • I won`t wish to post DirectX log file info this time for my privacy reasons all about my computer by now, but as evidence I post my picture, where game said that I need 32Bit edition, or maybe it just won`t recognizes my video card, like most of games I was seen it just won`t use my default settings, as we can see in video save works fine just won`t loads, Why did cloud saves won`t work as well? I use my local saves works 100% back on x64 I mean if I change it back, in video I`m showing how far save is working if it`s need. I don`t know why it says turn to 32bit.

    Thanks for helping anyway.

    @essstumn How much RAM do you have ? The game might think you need it if you have <= 4 GB of RAM. The video card shouldn't have anything to do with the message.

    Sims 4 doesn't' support Origin Cloud save.

    You should be able to play on both computers, just not the same save game.

    EDIT: Moving this to tech
