Re: SDX error, white sim portraits, corrupted save, etc.

I created a new admin account, although neither sims 4 or EA are even opening in this new account. I'm not sure why, as other apps are working. The first time I tried an error message appeared saying ea is already running, I assumed this was because it was running on my existing account. Closing ea on my existing account hasn't changed anything though.

I noticed in the thread you attached you mention repairing the game - I haven't tried this yet, and was wondering if I should try this before uninstalling my game, in case the glitch/corruption is within one of the files?

Thanks : )

@AussieDave22  You can try repairing, sure.  But the fact that Sims 4 and even the EA App won't open in the new account is odd, not normal behavior at all.  It makes me think that this might in fact be a permissions issue, even with only Windows Defender in place.  While Defender doesn't usually cause problems, Controlled Folder Access can, so please disable that if it's currently running.

If that doesn't help, go ahead and try to repair, and if that doesn't help either, try uninstalling and reinstalling.  And in case it's not clear in the linked instructions for reinstalling, be sure to install to a new folder on the root level of whatever drive you want to use: C:\Games is fine, C:\Program Files is not, and no user folder (Documents, Downloads, etc.) should ever be used for a game's program files.
