Re: Sims 4 on a new hard disk

@Letizia1612  Technically, you need to uninstall Sims 4 and reinstall it on the second drive.  So you'd uninstall through the EA App, and when reinstalling, choose a folder on the second drive as the install location. You do need to create a folder on that drive, for example D:\Games; you can't just install the game directly onto D.

If your download speeds are slow, you can try moving the game's program files to the location you want to use on D, then telling the EA App to download the game there.  Don't move the folder within Documents; I mean the location that you see if you click Sims 4 in your game library and then choose Manage > View properties:

The EA App might simply verify that the files are in the new location and finish the install process.  Or it might redownload some of your packs, or the entire game.  It seems to be hit or miss.

Your saves and other user data are stored in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  I'd suggest making a copy of this folder and storing it elsewhere, ideally on an external drive or USB stick but your secondary drive works as well.  (If you use the secondary drive, create a separate folder, e.g. D:\Backups, for that data.)  The files shouldn't get removed during the uninstall process, but it can happen.  More importantly, it's useful to have backups in general in case something happens to your main saves and you need to retrieve older ones.  You can back up the files periodically and delete the oldest backups when you know you won't use them.

@Letizia1612  The "The Sims 4" folder in my screenshot contains all the game's program files, including all the data for expansion packs.  So transferring that, and then letting the EA App "download" (hopefully just verify) the game in the new location, should be sufficient.

The "The Sims 4" folder in Documents > Electronic Arts does not need to be copied or transferred anywhere.  I'd still suggest making a backup, but this has nothing to do with moving the install location.

@Letizia1612  Please run searches for two or three of your missing packs.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter the folder name for one of the missing packs in the search field in the upper-right corner.  This is the full list of packs:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/extras-2/available-packs-dlc/

For example, if you're looking for Seasons, you'd search for EP05 .  Wait for the search to finish, then make sure the full file path is showing under each result.  If it's not, expand the window sideways as necessary.  Take a screenshot using Windows key-shift-S and attach it to a reply here.  Then repeat for one or two more packs.

You're not bothering me at all, so please don't apologize.
