Re: Sims 4 Shows a White screen, then Instantly Crashes.

@foolspark  Your dxdiag says Sims 4 is crashing because the AMD driver is crashing and taking the game down with it.  Dell offers a newer driver for your laptop that covers both the integrated graphics chip and the dedicated card.  You can get it here:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/g-series-15-5505-laptop/drivers

You're looking for the AMD Radeon Graphics Driver, in the Video category.  Run the installer as an admin: right-click the downloaded file and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.  If that doesn't help, please post a new dxdiag.

I installed the driver but I'm encountering a similar problem? I can't load up the EA app, it just shows the "connecting to the EA app" Screen briefly, then shuts down.

  • I figured it out! I ran the Automatic-driver update detector on the site, reinstalled the Driver and the System Bios. Then, I was still encountering an issue with the EA App, so I went to uninstall it through my Settings, under "Apps", but I instead chose to "Repair" it. I managed to open the EA app, then, tried out the sims. It booted just fine! Did it twice to make sure It wasn't a fluke.

@puzzlezaddict, Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate your patience and expertise. I wish you well! I'm off to start up a new save :D.
