Yes, like @jpkarlsen said, you have errors with svchost.exe, but also several other problems where some of the tips online point to a corrupt/faulty user profile.
If the tips from Microsoft does not help (hopefully it'll at least do some good for your computer), you might also have some third party program interfering with the game.
Make sure to white-list Origin and TS4 in your security programs, then run both as administrator.
Still no go? Perform a Clean Boot and see if the game runs.
I created a new local user, and ran dxdiag. The svchost.exe_SysMain error was still there. was that what should have done?
Other things worth mentioning:
I'll probably end up contacting the manufacturer (cyberpowerpc) tomorrow to see if I can replace my pc.
The DxDiag takes information about crashes from event viewer it is no surprise that the errors are still listed there. As long as there are not any new ones it is fine.
Good that the game now seems to work.
@jpkarlsen @CMeki Do you think my game crashes are just because my graphics were too high for my card? The game defaults at the Ultra setting for some idiotic reason.
So, the original message ('unrecognized video card') means that the card that my computer has is not in the list EA provided to set the starting graphic settings, but it stills utilizes the card regardless. Do you think that this is right?
I think it was more the problem with the User profile but having higher settings in Graphics than your card can really handle is not good either.
@jpkarlsen I was still running the game in my original profile. The only thing I did in my local profile was run dxdiag and post to this forum.
The game crashed again within a few minutes of starting up. I ran dxdiag again and a new crash code appeared.
Please attach the lastcrash.txt file from your The Sims 4 folder.
Also I notice that you have poor eyesight since Windows is set to enlarge text. For testing purposes try to set it back to standard before starting the game.
I'm also getting help directly from EA at the moment. The enlarge text is from using a 60" TV. not bad eyesight.
hi
i had same issue except game wouldn't load at all
i went through every possible fix with EA
from disabling origin in game
updating game/gfx drivers
to reinstalling game
what fixed it for me was i went into my GeForce experience (graphics card settings)
and set game to run windowed borderless
came on first time and worked perfectly
hope this helps
I ended up flushing the dns cache, clearing the origin cache, and reseting the internet explorer settings. The game has been working for at least 50 minutes without any issues.
That's great, thanks for reporting what worked for you! 🙂
