@champagne_probs  The Sims 4 crashes in your dxdiag (and thanks for providing it) reference a component of DirectX 9, so try reinstalling it.  You don't need to uninstall anything; just run the installer and restart your computer, as described here:

Please also tell Windows to use your Nvidia GPU for Sims 4—the Control Panel setting doesn't always take.  Hit Windows key-i, select System > Display > Graphics settings, click Browse, find TS4_x64.exe on the list, and set it to use the high-performance option.

If these steps don't help, try forcing the game to launch in windowed mode.  Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, open Options.ini, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).

If this doesn't help either, please post a screenshot of the error you're getting or write out the text.  There are a couple different errors that could fit your description, and I want to be sure I'm thinking of the correct one.

    Just out of the blue, my Sims 4 stopped working. I have updated all the drivers, forced Windows to use the high-performance graphics card, and changed the windowed option to 0, but it still doesn't work. I keep getting the same error.

    @BonitaPlayer41  This is probably not related to Sims 4, but a component of your Adobe software is crashing, a lot, according to your dxdiag.  So please make sure no Adobe services are running before trying to play—check the Task Manager's background processes list as well.  You may need to force an update of the software or even uninstall and reinstall it to clear up the crashing, but I wouldn't know how to help further with that.

    For the Sims 4 error, I don't see any obvious cause.  Just as an experiment, please force your laptop to use the Nvidia graphics card, then the Intel iGPU, and see which one gives you this error.  (The game should be using the Nvidia card by default, but it's best to make sure.)  Right-click the desktop and select the Nvidia Control Panel, select Manage 3D settings > Global settings, and choose one GPU and then the other.  You'll want to go back to auto-select when you're done, but it's fine to test like this for a little while.
