Re: Sims 4 wont launch

@HomieWonKenobi  Please uninstall all your Razer software and try again to play.  Synapse and Game Manager Service are both crashing, so it's best to get rid of everything and see whether the game works.  If it does, you can try reinstalling the apps you'd like to use and see how it goes.

Your dxdiag also lists a few failed Windows updates.  Those should be addressed to unless you're deliberately blocking the updates and therefore know it's not a problem.  If that's not the case, please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

  • Hit Windows key-X
  • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
  • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
  • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
  • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
  • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
  • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
  • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the button to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

    After the first scan I got no errors. 

    This is the result of the second scan: 

    "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.

    For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
    windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
    repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag."

    I am not blocking any updates on purpose. My system says I am up to date when I check "Windows Update" under settings. 

    After uninstalling razer programs, I am still getting the same error when attempting to start the game.

    Thanks for all your help. This is really frustrating. Means a lot that your assisting me.

    @HomieWonKenobi  If you use a third-party antivirus, please set exceptions for TS4_x64.exe and EADesktop.exe.  And look through the antivirus notifications to see if it's blocked anything Sims 4- or EA-related recently.  Please also run the EA App itself as an admin: right-click the desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator."

    The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to launch.  Disable the rest as described.

    When you reboot, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down anything that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example a utility like MSI Afterburner might still be active.  If you accidentally kill the wrong process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

    If you still can't play, please look for any related errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

    Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 3, specifically in the clean boot.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

    If you can't find any related errors, that's helpful information too.
