Mine has started doing it in live mode as well as of this morning. Wasn't doing it last night. This is super weird.
@crinrict As soon as I figured out it was a connection issue, I turned off my antivirus and firewall, no dice. I'm really at a loss. The only change I've made to my computer is the PSU, and that was an upgrade. I went from 500W to 650W.

Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

Here ya go. My CPU and mobo are definitely pretty ancient at this point, though it's never been an issue with Sims 4 before.

Yeah, that processor is a bit oldish.
Did you try lowering the settings ? Are you going to the gallery from the main screen or from within your save ? If you do it from the save, is it also lagging from the main menu ?

It lags either way. I did try lowering the settings, toggling V-sync, not a single change, not even a little. I started avoiding the gallery and all was well, except now, like the person above, it's become a problem in live mode as well. It's fine on pause, but the mouse lags right away upon unpausing. Everything else is smooth, just the mouse. I went ahead and tried it in windowed, as well. It's all just really weird. It wasn't lagging in live mode last night. Hmm. 🤔
At this point, it's just kind of funny to me that I can run Skyrim, Witcher 3, and ironically even Sims 3 on their highest settings but for some reason Sims 4 just crosses a line 😃

Could you do a clean boot: https://help.ea.com/uk/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ to make sure it's nothing interfering ?
