Re: Vintage Stove is party broken

@crinrictdoes it say "there is no stove" when you click on it? 'cause that is the main issue here with mine.

ETA: will re-install the hole game now since the repair did not help. Maybe that will hopefully fix whatever the issue is here.

    Feedback:

    So after uninstalling all my S4 games & Origin & removing all leftovers from my comp and re-installing everything from scratch, the stove now works again. Whatever the issue was, I guess we will never know. It's just very bothersome what one has to go through just to fix the game and bugged content. I suppose the thread can be marked as solved.

    Hmmm. I have lot of those stoves in my game.

    Maybe just a random glitch?

    Am also wondering if there was an unfinished cooking/baking action with the oven. It looks like most of the things that can't be made require the oven. Sims to seem to do a lot of wondering away from cooking lately. Sometimes there's a "resume" in the stove pie menu.

    I have had a similar glitch where the game doesn't recognize a fridge being present when I click on a stove. I have a very vague feeling that it has to do with stored produce, so I usually remove the fridge inventory to my sims inventory and do an "inventory.purge" cheat. Then I delete the fridge. Probably overkill, but seems to work.  Just a thought.

    Made a copy of my The Sims 4 folder. Deleted the Mods folder plus localthumbcache.package and the onlinethumbnailcache folder and all the caches for good measure. Went through all my households that owned the Vintage stove. Couldn't reproduce this.

    Adding: Yes, I know it says solved. Just thought uninstalling and reinstalling the game seemed like a really cumbersome solution.

    @DizzyDee-K

    Believe me, re-installing the game was my last step after trying several ways. With the newest patch and Dream Home Pack they have inruduced new stove variations, and I'm convinced that this is/was the issue. The bug I had does not mean that EVERYBODY has to have it just like not everybody has the same computer or packs installed. Your fridge exemple wouldn't have helped because for testing purposes I tested the stove in a brand new game folder & save file on an empty lot with an empty fridge, placed that vintage stove and a counter. The issue was the same. Re-installing the game AND Origin fixed it, whatever the issue was. Although it seams combersome, I even reccomment to completely re-installing the buggy game from time to time, especially Origin.

    On a side note:
    The new stove variations also broke lots of CC stoves. Some vanish when placing into counter or leaving a hole in the counter. Solution: deactivate "Auto" function on counters.
