Save Files Won't Load

So, one of my stuff packs was refusing to install (I installed it on a different device so it was saying "installed" even though it wasn't). So I did some research and someone suggested uninstalling ...

    @BEARlySurviving  Origin will sometimes prompt players to download the Legacy Edition when it's unnecessary because TS4_x64.exe, which runs the standard version of the game, is blocked or missing, which in turn is almost always due to an overzealous antivirus.  So please check to see whether you have a copy of the .exe, which is located within the game's program files.  Unless you changed the default install location in Origin, the full file path will be:

    Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

    Normally, running a repair is enough to restore the .exe: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.  If that doesn't work though, try disabling your antivirus, repairing again, and then setting exceptions for Origin.exe and TS4_x64.exe.

    As far as instruction Origin to run the standard version of Sims 4 rather than the Legacy Edition, you can only do so if the .exe is present.  When it is, open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties > Advanced Launch Options, and select 64-bit from the dropdown menu.  No dropdown menu means Origin thinks you can't run the 64-bit version, again almost always because the .exe is missing.

@BEARlySurviving  Before you do anything else, please back up the saves folder either to an external hard drive or USB stick or to cloud storage.  Since you'll probably be moving around files, it's good to have a backup copy somewhere else, just in case a save gets deleted along the way.

Please load the game and start a new save.  (There's no need to spend much time on it; this is just for testing.)  Exit to the Main Menu, click Load Game, and for your new save, hover over the folder icon below the other save info: you'll see the full file path to where that save is stored.  If that is not where your other saves currently are, you need to move those saves to that location.

If that is in fact where your saves are, please post a screenshot of the saves folder, so I can look for other reasons why they might not load.

@puzzlezaddict Okay so, the issue appears to be there are two separate folders for saves. One is "The Sims 4/saves" and the other is "The Sims 4 Legacy Edition/saves". The new save went into the basic "Sims 4" save folder. So, should I just move all my old saves over to that one? Idk why I even have the Legacy Edition on this computer, it's a gaming computer, it can handle Sims lol

      @puzzlezaddict Thank you so much! It seems like when I reinstalled origin it defaulted to the 64bit version, and all my saves were in legacy. I moved everything over and it seems like my most recent family loaded up just fine. Thank you again for all your help, I really appreciate it ❤️
