@violettears If your hard drive is external, which it sounds like it is, please DO NOT move Documents to that drive. If the drive is ever unplugged, Windows may react very badly.
Instead, you can redirect the Sims 4 user folder, or the Electronic Arts folder it's in, to the external using a symbolic link:
It's a good idea to back up your user data (saves, mods and custom content, Tray files, etc.) before doing anything, just in case.
