Hi, I am experiencing save freezes both with and without mods. The game will let me save a few times after I first load in but as I play it's like there's some set time where I can't save anymore and the game will just endlessly say "saving". I have tried removing mods but after a while of playing, it still does it.
HikariHinoki Thanks for the dxdiag, which lists a couple of serious crashes of the graphics driver. While it's not clear from the dxdiag whether these happened as you were playing Sims 4, they should be addressed regardless. So please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Nvidia driver, as described here:
The Sims 4 errors are somewhat generic, but one cause of this type is a somewhat corrupt lot. So if reinstalling the driver doesn't help, please let me know whether this happens on new lots you test with, ones where you've never built or placed an existing build from your Library or the Gallery. As in, the lot is currently exactly as it appears in a new save. If you still have the same issue, please test with an actual new save too.
I am having the exact same problem it’s driving me insane
It happens no matter what I do. New saves, existing saves, my own builds, and gallery builds and different lots. It will save initially and then after around 15minutes it will freeze on the save screen. The icon still rotates but its infinite and never saves (even after hours) and I have to force quit.
I just tried reinstalling the graphics drivers through the driver installer (was too scared to attempt the other way first as this is my new PC but will do it if I get further problems. This was the clean install option) and now I don't see the driver crash (unless I'm reading the diag wrong) but still have the sims issue. I tried a new game, with a new house, new sim, on a previously unused lot. Saved once fine and then around 15 minutes passed and the save froze again.
That’s exactly like me it will save the first thew times then like you mentioned after a certain period of time it will freeze on the saving screen and then I’m forced to reset it to
its so bloody frustrating it’s definitely something on their end because I’m having the same problems as you and I have never had a problem before hopefully they fix it soon
And I looked on TikTok a guy mentioned it was a base game bug not mods / pack issue
HikariHinoki Your new dxdiag lists more AppHangB1 errors, the ones I mentioned could be due to a corrupt lot; but they have other causes, including an issue with the graphics driver. So I would still suggest doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver if my other suggestions don't help. It's very safe: the creator of the tool is a professional who takes bug reports seriously and is careful to maintain the viability of the software.
Your new dxdiag does list one crash of Razer's Game Manager Service, which occasionally conflicts with Sims 4, so please uninstall it. If it helps, you can reinstall the tool; sometimes that's all it takes.
If that doesn't help, please try pausing OneDrive syncing before you play. To see the option, right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen, or perhaps hidden in the Tray (^ icon).
kaishabooboo I wouldn't consider a random person on TikTok to be a reliable source. For anything.
