SCROLL WHEEL STOPS WORKING DURING THE GAME

Hello everyone!
I am facing the problem while a scroll wheel stops working for rotating the camera during the game.
I have the sims 3 camera settings, I already changed the settings and uploaded drivers, unplug my mouse and plug in again, deleted the mouse in the device manager and still nothing.
It also stop the scroll wheel functions outside the game, but it ALWAYS happens while playing exactly the sims 4.

My mouse perfectly works for the regular scroll and on other devices too. So it’s not a mouse problems.

Please, I need help!
Many thanks in advance.

@MoriartyStassie  You can select Fullscreen, Windowed Fullscreen (i.e. Borderless), or Windowed mode on the page that has the other graphics options.  This may not fix the problem after it's happened, although it could; the idea is to see whether it happens at all in a different mode.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean boot:

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

  • @MoriartyStassie  When the scroll wheel stops working in Sims 4, does it work in other apps running at the same time?  Please test if you haven't already.  Please also let me know whether it makes a difference to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode.

If you're running any apps alongside the game that include overlays, for example Steam or Discord, please try disabling those as well.

  • Hello, @puzzlezaddict! Thank you for your response!

It also stops working everywhere. During the game only my chrome browser is opened usually, no discord etc.

For scrolling down and up the wheel works, but for the rest what I described above - no.

After last night I turned on the laptop - it worked. I did some working tasks, watched videos etc - all worked.

When I started playing The Sims 4 - this issue started again after around 10-15 minutes of a gameplay.

So something in the game ruins the functions of my mouse for sure.

Please also let me know whether it makes a difference to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode.

I honestly don't know how to do it...
