Sims 4 - Sim not going to audition

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.61.15.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get famous
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Sim doesn't go to auditions even though they have the recommended skills and are in the preferred mood at the time of the audition.
What happens when the bug occurs? Sim doesn't attend audition and audition disappears from job screen. Have applied for other auditions, changed agencies and tried with another sim but each time they remain at home and audition disappears from job screen. Both sims I have tried with are 2/3 levels above the recommended skill level also.
What do you expect to see? Sim leaves to attend audition as they would do with a normal job.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Sim not going to auditions even though they are levels above the recommended skill level and are in the preferred mood at the time of the audition. Tried going to a different audition, changing agencies and tried on a different sim but it doesn't work.

  • Hi @HolLou99

Did you test a brand new Sim/Household in the new save ?

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • @HolLou99 Could you test moving them to a different house and also a fresh save for testing purposes to see if it's related to the save a or a general issue.
  • I’ve moved them into a new house and fresh saved but she still doesn’t go to the audition. Tried everything I can think of but don’t know what the issue is, thanks

@HolLou99 You can try having them quit the acting career and re-join it. They might lose some progress in the career but if it gets it working again...

  • I've been having this issue too. When my audition time comes my sim would walk off screen as if going to it, but then a loading screen will appear and give me an automatic fail. The only fix that works is if my sim is at her home lot before the audition begins and then goes to the audition. This feels like a new bug because I don't remember this happening before.

@Crazzy8855 Doesn't sound like the same issue in this thread though.

You might wanna consider making your own thread in the bug forum.
