Sims 4 - Stuck on Blue Screen before loading in

Hi I'm new around here and this is my first time writing a discussion so don't judge me.
Whenever I try to boot up Sims 4 it shows this screen (the image above) and stays on this screen for a solid 30 seconds before loading in. This never use to happen as before it used to load in instantly after the Plumbob goes away, but now it just stays on this screen and the music plays in the background. Eventually I load it but this never used to happen, so can someone help me out here and tell me what's wrong?

  • MRB141  Please remove your Mods folder and test again.  There have been several patches since you last played, and it would be very surprising if none of them broke any of your mods.  Longer loading times are a milder symptom of a broken mod or cc item, and other causes would typically affect other loading screens as well, or performance in general.

If that doesn't help, playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Let me know whether it helps, and if it doesn't, you can restore the old folder.

If you have the same longer loading screen in the clean folder, please also let me know what antivirus you use and whether it's showing any recent actions related to Sims 4 or the EA App.

  • MRB141  Do you notice any other problems when you play?  Is this the first loading screen, before the Main Menu, or the one you get after you select a save to load?  Do you use mods or custom content, and if so, is the loading time normal with your Mods folder removed?  I'm not saying you shouldn't play with mods or cc in general, only that this is a useful test.

This is the first loading screen, before the Main Menu. The other loading screens are fine, and yes I play with mods but it's been a while since I played and last time I played it never did this before. I last played in February and everything loaded fine. After my 3 month break I came back recently in June and then it started happening. Gameplay is still the same and I never noticed any other problems. I couldn't find anything else wrong. That's all
