Sims 4 closing and says nothing

I got a new gaming pc recently over my laptop hoping to finally be able to play sims 4 smoothly, but once I started playing on it the game would start closing, it would happen that often but the longer I've played the more frequently it happens, which never happened on my laptop so I'm just so confused and not good with the tech stuff. I did manage to run a dxdiag which I hope I did right and will attach below.

  • puzzlezaddictCan you please help me and see if there is anything my DxDiag is saying? TS4 keeps crashing and says nothing. its at random times, I've tried taking out mods and so many other things.

  • cherdenblaze  I apologize for the late reply.  I've been away from the forums for a while and am only starting to catch up today.

Your dxdiag shows two Sims 4 crashes that point to the Nvidia graphics driver, so please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

Most of the other crashes look like what happens with conflicting software.  So if the above doesn't help and you have any files inside ConfigOverride, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, please remove them.  (This is not technically conflicting software, but the errors are the same.)  And if you use ReShade or GShade, please remove it and repair the game, again if you have already.

If that doesn't help either, please uninstall any Razer apps you have: Synapse, Cortex, whatever you can find.  You may be able to reinstall them later, but please test with them gone.

Don't be sorry, completely understand. So I did a clean re-install of the graphics driver and updated it to the newest one and its still closing out. I do not have any files inside the ConfigOverride and I also don't use a Reshade or Gshade. I also don't believe I have any Razer Apps, this is a brand new gaming tower and I haven't download any apps that don't correlate with sims.. Is there anything else that could be causing my game to crash? I did see that my Core Processor is from 4/21/09, could that be a problem with how old it is?

  • cherdenblaze  I'm not sure where you saw your processor was from 2009; your Ryzen 5 5600 was released in 2022 and is more than good enough for anything Sims 4-related.

Please try playing in a clean boot:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

If this helps, you can selectively reenable services until you find the culprit, then either leave that disabled or (if it belongs to an app you want to keep using) let me know what it is so we can try to fix the underlying issue.

If the game freezes or crashes in a clean boot, please try again, except with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

If this doesn't help either, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

Okay.. So I know that its been over two weeks, and a lot has happened. I tried everything, and I even got desperate enough to call geek squad to help.. which they did nothing besides tell me to get a better graphics card.. So I did.. I got it installed and now sims wont load at all, it says preparing gaming, flashes a white a screen and then goes back to the EA app. Now I followed your steps from another post where you said "Your dxdiag doesn't list any Sims 4-related errors, which could mean that the game is being blocked from starting or possibly that the errors are being removed by some kind of cleaner app.  For the latter, if you are using an app that deletes temporary files, please disable or delete it while troubleshooting here.  Aside from that, if you use a third-party antivirus, please set exceptions for TS4_x64 and TS4_Launcher_x64, or the entire Bin folder they're in.

If that's not the issue, OneDrive could be interfering.  Please pause syncing before trying to play.  To do so, right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen, or it might be hidden in the Tray (^ icon) instead." So none of that worked and the next step was to go in to the  "perfmon /rel" and copy what it says so I was hoping I could leave my copy and you can get back to me whenever possible. I am able to load other games from EA, and I have also completely removed my saves and mods, uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and still nothing worked.
