Sims 4 Continutes Crashing With Lots Of CC

Hello.

Game topic: Sims 4

Platform: Mac (Most Recent)

I just downloaded a bunch of CC and now my sims game crashes once i get to the "Sims 4" screen ingame. I do not want to delete anything. Is there a way to fix this and leave most if not all of my CCs untouched?

  • Thanks @Coley666.

@Destynei please try the suggest @Coley666's shared. If that doesn't work, please open your own thread and include all the steps you've tried so far. I'll close this thread in the meantime as it's 4 years old.

Well, if this happened after downloading cc, then you have to remove those who are broken... I'm sorry, but you can't have broken content in your game and expect it to work. ☹️

You can contact the creator and ask them to update the cc if you really want it.

Just to be sure, try to remove all of them and see if the game works better.
For example, move the mods folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 to your Desktop and start the game.

If that works but you want to keep your mods, you can try some different things to sort out the ones not working:

    • If your problem occurred after a certain mod haul, remove all these new mods (see if the game works), and then add back a few at a time, restarting the game in between until you see the problem occurring again. Remember that you can possible have several broken mods.
    • If the problem started after the latest patch/update, always make sure to update your mods when you update your game. Check this list out for some mods that were broken in the C&D-patch! A few others have been broken after but not so many that there is a list.

    • Download Sims 4 Studio and do batch-fixes for your cc, can be needed after game updates.
    • Like the first "solution", but for all your mods. Remove all and put back some at a time to find broken ones (last resort if you have like 1000 mods).

    Good Luck!

  • What was no help? Any of it?

Did your game work once you removed the CC?

    What @CMeki says below:

    "

    • If your problem occurred after a certain mod haul, remove all these new mods (see if the game works), and then add back a few at a time, restarting the game in between until you see the problem occurring again. Remember that you can possible have several broken mods.  "

This is the best way to find the broken CC. It takes a LOOONG time, but eventually after adding some in the game with crash and you will know that somewhere in that "block" of CC you just added is a bad one. Add them in one by one until you find it and then either remove or update as required. Even if you find one, keep adding in blocks in case there is another one.

It's an absolute pain but if you want to play with CC sometimes it's necessary if a bad piece of CC is downloaded.
